Rachel Storer welcomes a clear plan from the Conservatives to recruit 8,000 additional full-time neighbourhood police, keeping communities across Hull West & Haltemprice safe

Stopping the boats and ensuring that those who come here illegally are swiftly removed is a top priority for residents. This is why I am supporting the Conservative government’s plan to secure our borders.
I welcome the recent government investment in skills training including £4.3 million in local Skills Bootcamps. But I want to do more to ensure we are helping people get better, well paid jobs locally.
All residents must be able to access the care they need quickly. The NHS is important to me; my mother was proud to have spent her career working as a nurse in the NHS and she later relied on it during ill health.
I am proud that the Conservative government has invested in Hull’s future, including £19.5 million for levelling up, £9m UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supporting the creation of a Freeport.
Everyone should feel safe in their homes and on our streets. I will work with our Humberside Police & Crime Commissioner to build on success and secure further government funding to fight crime in our area.
I know how important small to medium businesses are for our local economy. Having been a business owner, I understand the challenges and rewards of setting up your own business.
